		<description>Wait until you see Mizoguchi&#039;s Oyuki the Virgin.  Almost the same plot -- because ultimately based on the same Guy de Maupassant story &quot;Boule de suif&quot;.

BTW -- Japanese directors of the 20s and 30s were quite interested in the early films of John Ford. And Ozu was a particular fan of Ford&#039;s work.</description>
