A little history on the blog: I started it in January 2008 as merely a way to keep track of what I’m watching and provide an opportunity to post some cinematic observations. I don’t like to think I’m a “pro” or  even a decent writer so don’t hold too much stock in how I form sentences. As always, I encourage people to respond to these observations, I will almost always respond back if you do. Discussing film is always fun and being a high-school student in a suburban neighboorhood means I seldom meet people with interest in Ozu, Hou, Tsai, Naruse, et al. On the other hand, if anyone has personal recommendations than please, post them immediately!

My favorite directors are…. Yasujiro Ozu, Hou Hsiao-Hsien, Tsai Ming-Liang, Mikio Naruse, Jean-Luc Godard, Hong Sang-soo, Fruit Chan, Wong Kar-Wai, Werner Herzog, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Robert Bresson, etc.

My favorite films are… Humanity and Paper Balloons, Flowing, Late Autumn, Before the Revolution, Masculin Feminin, Faces, Even Dwarfs Started Small, Dust in the Wind, Cyclo, Gummo, I Stand Alone, Durian Durian, Take Care of My Cat, July Rhapsody, Morvern Callar, Unknown Pleasures, The Wayward Cloud, Su-ki-da, A Tale of Cinema, Fu sheng, and so on…
